6.1.2 Centrifugal Model

This section describes the operating parameters for the centrifugal pump model and conditions specified for the Boundaries and Volumes. To add Centrifugal module, click Select Modules in the Model Panel

The parameters under Centrifugal module is accessed as follows:

Model Panel > Centrifugal

Properties Panel > Model Tab

Setup Options

This provides the option to specify the operating parameters in either:

  • Template Mode-Serves as a wizard in setting up a problem, but with the restriction that not all options are visible to the user.
  • Extended Mode-Provides the full access to all the operating parameters

Switching between Template Mode or Extended Mode does not alter any parameter related to Centrifugal module. It only changes the accessibility for other advanced settings (Numerics or boundary condition related) in other modules. As such, the user is free to go back and forth during the problem set-up.

Reference Pump

This determines which template controls the Time Definition, when there is an additional pump or valve template as part of the simulation. This option is active only when there are multiple templates in the simulation (as shown in Figure 6.3).

Note: Only one template can be set as the Reference. The last template set to Reference as Yes is the one used. The others are reset to No.

Once the above parameters are specified, further parameters are described under:
