Problem Overview

The GT-SUITE model for the coolant flow system is shown in the Figure 10.112.

The coolant flow system is a closed loop system. Flow from the thermostat valve is pumped by the centrifugal pump and is taken to the water jackets to cool the engine. Depending on the temperature of the fluid coming out from the engine, the flow either enters into the bypass valve back to the thermostat valve and engine, or it is sent to the radiator to lose heat and come back to the cooling system. Part of the radiator flow is used in the cabinet heating and comes back to the thermostat valve. Air is used as the secondary flow medium in the radiator.
