Contours

The most common contours for the turbulent flow in a diffuser simulation are the Pressure and Velocity contours across the domain. The steps to create contours are:

  1. Click Load Results in the Simulation Panel.
  2. Select the required result file in the ensuing Load Results dialog box, click Open.
Create a section

A section is created with the following steps.

  1. Click Create a Cross-Section in the Geometric Entities Panel. A new section Section 01 is created under Derived Surfaces.
  2. Select Section 01 under Derived Surfaces.
  3. Select Plane Y for Type in the Geometry Tab of Properties Panel.
  4. Enter 0 for Position.
Pressure Contour
  1. Select Section 01 under Derived Surfaces in the Geometric Entities Panel.
  2. Select Pressure under Variables list for the Variable drop-down list in the Results Panel, see Figure 11.271. For variables and legends, refer Post-Processing.

Create a section

A section is created with the following steps.

  1. Click Create a Cross-Section in the Geometric Entities Panel. A new section Section 02 is created under Derived Surfaces.
  2. Select Section 02 under Derived Surfaces.
  3. Select Plane Y for Type in the Geometry Tab of Properties Panel.
  4. Enter 0 for Position.
Velocity Contour
  1. Select Section 02 under Derived Surfaces in the Geometric Entities Panel.
  2. Select Velocity Magnitude under Derived Variables list for the Variable drop-down list in the Results Panel, see Figure 11.273. For variables and legends, refer Post-Processing.
