This tutorial explains the procedure to simulate the sea-keeping of a marine vessel with a self propelled boat. A general work flow is established for analyzing the flow of fluid around the hull and the generation of waves due to the hull-fluid interaction.
A simulation is to be performed to study the performance of marine vessel with a self propelled boat. The propulsion of the vessel is specified in terms of prescribed conditions, with a propeller model. The moving vessel achieves projected maximum velocity of 12.861 m/s in the forward direction. Figure 8.62 shows the setup for the marine simulation, the physical properties of the vessel and the fluid properties.
