12.7 Animations
All the animations, except streamline animations, are created from a series of saved .sres files during transient simulations. Each animation frame corresponds to one result file. The Result Saving Frequency in the Simulation Panel controls how often results are saved during a transient simulation. Typically, user would not want to save too many result files in order to save disk space. In order to get better time resolution of the animation, user may need to save results more frequently for the period of time the user wants to create an animation. The steps to create an animation are shown below:
- Select File > Save Animation.
- Select the result files for animation data in the Select Result Files dialog box.
- The next pop up window will ask the user to input a File name for the animation. User can also choose between two types of output files in the Select GIF File for Movie, PNG File for Frames dialog box: a single animated gif file; or multiple PNG picture files and create an animation later using an external movie maker software.
