Contours

The steps to create contours are:

1. Click Load Results in the Simulation Panel.
2. Select the solid.sres result file in the ensuing Load Results dialog box, click Open.

 

Temperature Contours - Solid model

1. Select gear under Volumes in the Geometric Entities Panel.
2. Select Temperature under Heat from the Variable drop-down list in the Results Panel (see, Figure 10.43). For variables and legends, refer Post-Processing.
3. Specify Min as 308 K and Max as 348 K in the Results Panel.

 

 

1. Click Create a Cross-Section in the Geometric Entities Panel. A new section Section 01 is created under Derived Surfaces.
2. Select Section 01 under Derived Surfaces.
3. Select Plane Z for Type and enter Position as 0.014 in the Geometry Tab of Properties Panel.
4. Select Variable as Temperature from the drop-down list in the Results Panel.
5. Specify Min as 315 K and Max as 350 K in the Results Panel.

 

´	Note: Changes to the display, such as legend, contour color, image sizing and transparency can be made under the View Tab of Properties Panel.
