6.11.3 Ball Valve Model
The section describes the operating parameters for the valve model and conditions specified for the Boundaries and Volumes.
The Ball Valve module adds itself in the Model Panel (see, Figure 6.603), when the Ball Valve mesh is generated using the Valve Template Mesher. The parameters under Ball Valve module is accessed as follows:
Properties Panel > Model Tab > Ball Valve
Setup Options
This provides the option to specify the operating parameters in either:
- Template Mode: Serves as a “wizard” in setting up a problem, but with the restriction that not all options are visible to the user.
- Extended Mode: Provides the full access to all the operating parameters.
Switching between Template Mode or Extended Mode does not alter any parameter related to Valve module. It only changes the accessibility for other advanced settings (numerics or boundary condition related) in other modules. As such, the user is free to go back and forth during the problem set-up.
