6.2.3 Gerotor Model

This section describes the operating parameters for the gerotor pump model and conditions specified for the boundaries and volumes.

The Gerotor module is automatically added to the Model Panel (see, Figure 6.95), when the gerotor mesh is generated using the Rotor Template Mesher. The parameters under Gerotor module are accessed as follows:

Model Panel > Gerotor

Properties Panel > Model Tab

Setup Options

This allows the user to specify the operating parameters in either:

Template Mode: Serves as a “wizard” in setting up a problem, but with the restriction that not all options are visible to the user.
Extended Mode: Provides full access to all the operating parameters.

Switching between the Template Mode or Extended Mode does not alter any parameter related to the Gerotor module. It only changes the accessibility of other advanced settings. As such, the user is free to go back and forth during the problem setup.

Reference Pump

This determines which template controls the Time Definition, when there is an additional pump or valve template as part of the simulation. This option is active only when there are multiple templates in the simulation.

Note: Only one template can be set as the reference. The others are reset to No.
