11.9 Natural Convection

Natural convection is a phenomenon in which fluid motion happens due to density differences between the fluid layers caused by temperature gradients, in the absence of other external forces.

This tutorial to demonstrate natural convection in a concentric annulus includes:

  1. Problem overview: A description and schematic of the problem, explaining the conditions involved in the modelling.
  2. Setting up the model: Building the simulation domain, specifying the physics and conditions.
  3. Performing simulations: Steps to run the simulation.
  4. Post processing: Analysis of the simulation results.
