2.1 Contents of this Manual

The manual contains the following chapters:

GUI and Panels

This chapter describes the graphical user interface and panels. The Simerics graphical interface consists of a menu-bar to access the various menus, a toolbar with sub-toolbar to perform different basic functions, multiple panels for the pre-processing, solver settings and post processing. For more information, click GUI and Panels.

Geometry and Mesh

This chapter describes the various operations that can be performed related to preparation of the geometry and mesh in Simerics-MP/Simerics-MP+. It also explains the mesh movement feature used to solve flow domains varying with time. For more information, click Geometry and Mesh.

Modules

This chapter details the theory, equations and background information on the physical modules in Simerics-MP/Simerics-MP+. This also gives the information on user inputs such as fluid properties, volume/boundary conditions and the output variables. For more information, click Modules.

Templates

Templates in Simerics-MP+ are customized groups of functions and settings used for specific applications, such as Fluid Machinery, Automotive and Marine. These templates simplify the setup of the model including dynamic mesh motion.

Post Processing

This chapter gives information on  analyzing and processing the results from the simulations. For more information, click Post Processing.

Numerics and Convergence

This chapter gives information on the solver settings, numerical schemes and convergence criteria used in Simerics-MP/Simerics-MP+. For more information, click Numerics and Convergence.

Expression Editor

The Expression Editor is an advanced feature used to perform operations on solver variables. This can also be used to define the input and output variables as functions of other variables such as Time, Pressure, etc. For more information, click Expression Editor.

Tutorials

This chapter consists of specific examples to simulate different applications, with detailed instructions starting from setting up the model to post-processing the results. For more information, click Tutorials.
