The objective of this simulation is to predict the temperature distribution of various underhood vehicle components along with other important parameters like coolant temperature at the radiator inlet and temperature at the outlet of the exhaust pipe. The air enters into the wind tunnel at a velocity of 25 m/s and 300 K leaves at a pressure of 101325 Pa. Figure 7.67 shows the geometry and conditions for the vehicle in the wind tunnel. Exhaust gases enter the exhaust pipe at 700 C with mass flow rate of 0.04 kg/s. The heat transfer across the radiator is modeled using the NTU method with the heat rejection rate of 30 kW. Speed of the fan is 500 RPM.
