The operating parameters pertaining to the circumferential valve template involve the time definition for the simulation, dynamics and configuration for valves and other advanced/extended settings (see, Figure 6.565).
Figure 6.565 - Circumferential valve model-Operating parameters
Dynamics
This allows linking the valve model to an activated Rotation (1 DOF) model which enables access to the Dynamics module that dictates the valve motion (as a function of time). The valve module has to be always associated with Rotation (1 DOF) for motion of the valve. Multiple, physically unconnected Valves should be modelled with separate valve modules and should be linked to separate Dynamics modules.
Valve Configuration
This allows the user to specify valve parameters. The parameters Minimum Gap Size , Maximum Displacement and Reference Point are specified under this category is described in Mesher.
Closure Model: This model enables the simulation of a valve closing completely, without having to compress the corresponding mesh volumes to zero. The available options from the drop-down list are:
No
Automatic: Automatic valve closure works when the valve and valve end surfaces are not parallel.
Specified Radial Position: When the valve and valve end surface are parallel, the valve closure is decided by the radius value. The radius should be lying in the valve closure region.
