7.3.2 Planetary Gearbox Tutorial

Welcome to the tutorial of a planetary gearbox simulation using Simerics-MP+. The planetary gears are used to transmit power at high gear ratios in limited space. General Gear template is used for planetary gearbox simulation, which automates the mesh generation process and model setup in Simerics-MP+. This tutorial demonstrates about simulation process of planetary gearbox. Figure 7.171 shows the CAD geometry of planetary gearbox assembly. The fluid volume is extracted from this assembly inside CAD tool and split into multiple volume as per template requirement. Refer External Gear Pump Tutorial for pre-requisites:
